These rules govern your use of Strafe Lab, a free browser mini-game available on this website (the “Game”). By pressing “I agree” on the Game’s start screen, or by playing the Game, you accept these rules in full. If you do not agree, do not play the Game.
The Game is a free, fan-made hobby project provided purely for fun and entertainment. It is a small browser toy that lets you practise a movement technique commonly known as the “counter-strafe”. It is not a commercial product, it is not a coaching or training service, and nothing in the Game constitutes professional advice of any kind.
The Game is an independent, unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed, approved or supported by Valve Corporation in any way. Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike 2, CS2, Steam and related names, marks and logos are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation. Any references to them in or around the Game are made solely for descriptive, informational purposes (nominative fair use). The Game contains no assets, code, sounds, models or other materials extracted from any Valve product; all of its content was created independently for this project.
The Game’s movement simulation is a best-effort approximation built from publicly documented community knowledge and measurements. The actual game code of Counter-Strike 2 is not public, so:
The Game has no goal of training you perfectly, and no claim is made that playing it will improve your performance, ranking or results in CS2 or in any other game. Any skill you do or do not develop is yours alone. We accept no responsibility for your in-game results, lost ranks, lost matches, or any decisions you make based on statistics the Game shows you.
The Game is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including (without limitation) any warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability or non-infringement. The Game may contain bugs, errors and inaccuracies; it may be unavailable, broken or behave differently at any time.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of this website shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the Game or these rules — including (without limitation) damage to devices, loss of data, lost profits, or any gaming results — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the Game is to stop playing it.
The Game contains moving visuals and brief flashing effects, and extended play of any game may cause eye strain or discomfort. Take regular breaks. If you experience dizziness, discomfort or any symptoms associated with photosensitive conditions, stop playing immediately and consult a doctor. You play at your own risk.
The Game runs entirely in your browser. Gameplay, shots and statistics are computed on your device and are not uploaded, transmitted or stored on our servers. The only thing the Game persists is your own settings (for example mouse sensitivity), kept locally in your browser’s storage on your device; you can clear it at any time through the Game’s “Reset settings” button or your browser settings.
You may play the Game for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You agree not to misrepresent the Game as an official Valve product, not to use it in any way that suggests affiliation with Valve, and not to attempt to disrupt or abuse the website hosting it.
We may modify, suspend or remove the Game, and may update these rules, at any time without notice. The version of the rules published on this page at the time you play applies to you. Continued play after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated rules.
If any provision of these rules is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force, and the unenforceable provision is replaced by an enforceable one that comes closest to its intent.
